Re: Gen Z spends half their waking time on screens

I have been experiencing something very similar, I’ve moved all over the U.S. and even since I was younger I’ve heard the accents fade. I’m currently in the deep south and it’s crazy to see how it’s only the adults who have the prominent accent. Everybody still has small distinctions for each area ...

The problem of lost media on Social Media

What happens when a Twitter/X account is suspended or lost? I was recently going through my saved art by other artists, and checked X to see if they had made anything new. (The last piece of art I had saved by them is from 2023 July 1.) I saw that their account had been suspended, probably in August ...

Re: Endless scroll creep of smartphone apps really killed the smartphone for me.

I face a lot of the same issues, something that perpetuates it is also definitely how so many others stick to the top popular few social media apps. The one thing I’ve had to do is turn notifications off and set things up to remind myself of how much time I’m spending there so that I don’t ...

Stefen_Maxwell Isn’t it pretty? 🌹 It’s in factory-mint condition, so far it’s battery life is 3–4 days before draining completely. The back cover is removable and the battery is easily replaced, I can get ones on Amazon with zero problem. It comes with Android 4.4 KitKat and I could sideload more ...

Re: Gen Z spends half their waking time on screens

Oh god, I am in this demographic.

You and 2 billion others, haha. Outside of the frightening health implications of this, the effects on language and culture is going to be quite fascinating (and probably very sad, in my opinion). My fiancée credits this perpetual screentime with the ...

My favourite social media platform is Wikipedia.

No, really, Wikipedia.

I remember as a kid, being enamoured with the userpages (random one I picked out of Chrono Trigger ’s edit history!) of the community members who built the site. People went back and forth on their own Discussion pages inviting them to collaborate in community events, and to ...

Re: Managing offline music library

For records produced by bands and programmatic composers (e.g. Beethoven, Erik Satie), I’ve always made file directories like this:
Music \ Band \ Album \ 01 - Song.mp3

For media like video game, anime, and film scores, which: frequently have fan covers and even fan albums ; may employ multiple ...

Re: controllers

Right now, I’m using an 8Bitdo Ultimate controller I received as a gift, and I use the USB-C wired connection, not the Bluetooth. I can’t really compare it to other controllers used for PC, because I’m typically a keyboard and mouse player on PC (I usually get the console ports of games, and the PC ...
