Re: I made my first bootleg CD!
Based. I've done a similar move in my life where I am trying to get all the music that is special to me on CD so I can never lose it. Super fun project you've started!
WELL, as I understand, CD-Rs are not as long-lasting as regular CDs. The best way to *never* lose it is to download all of it ...

Re: I made my first bootleg CD!
Only problem is I don't have any jewel cases, let alone reliable cd's >>
I suppose it depends on where you're from, but CD-Rs and jewel cases are pretty cheap! So much so that I only ever see them sold in bundles of 50 or 100.
I bought a bundle of ten CD-Rs and ten jewel cases and all of that ...

I made my first bootleg CD!
So, I want to be able to have the music of some artists I follow and like on CD. My usual way of going about this is buying directly from them, or looking through stores and street markets to see if they have anything I'm interested in. It gets tricky when CDs are no longer in production, when the ...

Re: Art Share Thread
I'll share a drawing of my own while I'm at it:
what the helllll that's so cool!!!! love the colours :0
@Ray Karr your drawing radiates so much joy! I really like your profile pic, too. I tried to upload my own, but they all exceed the 6.00 KiB file size limit. How do people get their files ...

Re: I Love minidisc!
Oh nice! I didn't even know about this format!
You mentioned they haven't been officially in production since 2013. Are there people who make/rewrite their own?

Re: Battle/Patch Jackets
New patches! Surprise, it's all ska!
I've wanted patches of these bands for a while now, but since the bands themselves don't seem to make or sell them, I had them made for me. Picked them up on Saturday at a furry hangout, and sewed them on yesterday!

Re: Coffee Megathread
I've been a lifelong coffee hater. I never really liked the flavour or smell of it. Buuuuut, that started to change when I moved out with my partner, who's a coffee freak (in a good way!)
I still don't like the flavour of most coffees, but I think of them every time I smell it. I can actually tell ...

Re: A few things that have helped me consume less over time.
Hard agree with a lot of your practices. A lot of times when I wanna buy a new version of something I have, simply asking myself "do I need this, do I want this, or do I just want something new?"
Sadly, a lot of the things we do buy are not built to last, so I would also recommend two additional ...

Re: Dissertation Research
OMG I'm looking over this booklet, seems like really useful info. Not just for someone like me, who has some level of knowledge. I could send this to my parents or anyone else who fits the profile of "concerned over privacy, but doesn't know or care to investigate"
Great work!

Re: Introduce yourself!
Uh hi I'm Nova, I'm a 33yo cat from space who has started their own website because I got tired of social media (granted I still have social media platforms but mostly active on Bluesky). I am an artist who likes to draw things and am an advocate for Glaze/AI-poisoning filters (yes even ibisPaint ...
