James Lee is a YouTube Animation Channel, who you might have seen around. His Art Style is quite distinct.

Today he made a Video about his Adobe Breakup, in which he shows of what he has been using as an alternative in his last Videos over the Adobe ...

Re: My friend’s art pages

I mentioned a friend whom I call Kohai in my post about escaping Discord . After that, somebody on the Pale Moon forum asking about my profile picture and the recent post about someone’s wife’s art site, I would like to introduce his work here. Although it was before his time, my friend loves the ...

Re: NixOS

I'm currently taking the effort to port my entire operating system from arch to nixos, as declarative system config is incredibly appealing to me, however the learning curve is completely bonkers lmao.

Right now I've gotten past bootloader config problems (which wasn't exactly nix's fault; I ...

Re: Thoughts on Windows LTSC?

I've been stubbornly holding onto Windows 10 for a while now, and I plan on continuing to do that until the very day it stops being supported. I already find it a little annoying, though that was mitigated after getting used to it over the 10 or so years I've used it for, but the more I learn ...

Re: YouTube alternatives

There definitely is an expectation that will need to change among viewers and creators to see a successful alternative I think. I happily subscribe to Nebula and could even use it as a YouTube replacement if I needed to. Paying $60 a year for like 60-80% of the type of content I watch on YouTube ...

Re: YouTube alternatives

The Internet Archive serves, in some capacity, as a YouTube substitute: anybody can upload film there. My own biggest problem is that there is no way to lower the resolution below how it was originally uploaded, which can be awkward if someone has chosen HD, which wastes my bandwidth. Others might ...

Re: YouTube alternatives

If anyone is looking into PeerTube instances for a place to make an account, here are a few I came across that seem to have decent amount of content. Remember that on the fediverse you can see content from all of these instances from one place, so you don't need to check each one. It's like ...

Re: What music have you bought (or downloaded) recently?

I had a big download session recently, but the standout album (and the one I think I'll keep in rotation) is herdbound - bit depth! :D

Tho not long before that I downloaded polygondwanaland - King gizzard and the wizard lizard, and have also enjoyed that

(Both of these are free on ...

Re: DEs and WMs Opinions and Experiances

Yeah we all get a bit crazy about Wayland sometimes, but x11 is nothing if not stable. Let us know if you find anything neat!

Certainly!!!
Both ways of running a display are fun!

(I'll not get into the secret third framebuffer option )

I really wanna play around with xeyes >>

Re: DEs and WMs Opinions and Experiances

I thought this might be worthwhile to mention, but I'm considering a Little vacation back to X11-land
I just wanna play around with cozy old WM's for a while

I'm playing around rejecting convenience for things i find fun!
This forum has sent me to good places :D
