I use arch, btw

Talk about Linux, macOS, Windows, maybe TempleOS?

I've been using Fedora Silverblue for about a year now and it suits my needs well enough. I chose Fedora mainly due to the semi-rolling release model (less prone to breakage than something like Arch, but it still gets frequent updates and a new GNOME version every six months), plus it's officially supported on my Framework laptop so it runs like a charm out of the box. The fact that it's an immutable distro also means I can easily roll back if an update happens to screw up my system. Most days I just want to get work done at my computer without having to worry about fixing my system so having that peace of mind is really appreciated.

I might check out NixOS eventually though if I ever feel like changing things up.

Guess what?
I DO use Arch now!! (btw...)
I like it, genuinely been treating me much better than most Ubuntu-based ones have been imo. I wrote a lil blog post about Arch just now if you're curious but it's been pretty nice, and though I did have some problems with installing it's honestly been pretty fun and neat to use.

that doesn't make sense. Who wrote that?

I have been using Linux Mint Debian Edition 4 since 2020. I am a layman (ie I have no programming background) who likes to adjust the settings in the control panel, but prefers to avoid the terminal if I can at all help it, and Mint is ideal for this. I favoured (and favour) the Debian over the Ubuntu edition for the usual wariness over Canonical. I removed Flatpak, for I prefer traditional package management. Since LMDE 4 has been end-of-life, I disabled Mint Report and switched to LTS and later ELTS security updates. I have not yet decided what to do in 2029. Now that I am using Pidgin instead of Gajim, I really just need to know that my Flash plug-in 34·0·0·137) will continue to work. Although my GPU is Radeon (viz AMD Trinity [Radeon HD 7640G]), and I have only heard about Glibc-Flash incompatibility on Nvidia systems, I am naturally wary.

I just installed Mint on an 10+ year old laptop of mine. Having fun with it so far even if the computer's slightly laggy from how old it is.
Update to this: installed it on my main laptop now too. May install a lighter Linux OS on the old one and use that as a server? Renderfarm? Not sure exactly.
