My father instilled in me, from a young age, a love of the Pilot Precise V5 Extra Fine Rolling Ball. Best pen I've ever used, and you can get them at the grocery store.

But I've been journaling regularly for about a year now and I've used up a couple of them, so I'm thinking about taking the plunge into fountain pens so as to be able to reduce my plastic use. And for the vibes. Can't beat a nice pen and a bottle of ink for vibes.

As a fountain pen enjoyer, I must say the Pilot Precise V5 is the best non-fountain pen I've ever used. I am also a fan of the Pilot Frixion erasable pens because they're the only erasable pen I've seen that actually works. Very good for things like TTRPG character sheets that need frequent erasing.

Also realizing I never gave my real response in this thread, my current favorite pen is the TWSBI Precision, which is a metal-bodied piston filler. I have the gunmetal gray one, but they recently released a very nice looking blue one that I'm stopping myself from getting because I don't need a second one.

Oh wow, that is one beautiful pen. When I end up getting a cheaper fountain, if I end up really liking them, that looks like a very nice pen to upgrade to.

I know this is something of a basic answer, but I generally like to use the cheap BIC pens... I guess I just never bothered to try a really fancy one, haha!

But in terms of favourite pen of all time, I used to have a pen (Tesco Mobile perhaps?) when I was maybe 8 years old, and what I really liked about it - other than it being great for me to use at the time - was the fact that it had a mini plastic football inside, and it would jump about when I pressed on the back to either open or close the pen. Other than that, I remember nothing about it. It might be in my "nostalgia drawer" back at home where I keep trinkets and drawings from while I was growing up (including the two only plastic straws in the entire house), but I can't access it right now since I'm abroad.

My favorite, is probably my Lamy safari pens... but the one I use most often is actually a Multi-pen.

Pilot Hi-Tec-C Coleto 1000 , I sometimes will journal in multiple colors and it's been the best so far. The Refills are tiny, but I like having 3 different gel inks and a mechanical pencil insert. Now I just keep that one with me at all times.

Currently my favourite pen, I don't use them that often, is the Pilot G-2 07 black gel pen.

Disclaimer, that is one of the only pens I have tried... I do not like ball point pens though

I don't have much experience because this is my first fountain pen, but I'm in love with it already!

It's a Lamy Safari with an M nib. The shop where I bought it had a discount on the pink colour, so I got it for 22$.

It fits ergonomically in the hand, the plastic is high quality and easy to wash off ink if necessary. I carried it upright in my bag for half a day, and even after that it started writing right away, although I thought it would take time for the ink to flow back to the tip.

The ink also dries fairly quickly and is suitable even for ordinary notebooks. Although next time I plan to buy Parker ink, because Lamy is a little more expensive than them.

I don't regret a single penny I spent on this pen, and I also want to gift my friend a Lamy Vista for her birthday :D

I'm gonna stop lurking here for this thread and post my three faves. I was really into stationary when I was younger, but now I've settled into my faves and don't like buying anything but these three really.

If I'm writing in the Latin Alphabet I use the Pentel EnerGel RTX in 0.7, it's a good thickness and the ink is very smooth but still doesn't smudge, even if I use highlighter on it right away. The print on the casing is all scratched on mine but it's very nice in my hand. I saw that @2Square also uses this one (good taste!!!!)

If I'm writing in Japanese I usually go for the Uniball Signo in 0.28. It's unbelievably thin, and since my handwriting is pretty small it's perfect for the more dense Kanji and I love the way it looks really delicate with the alphabet. It's a bit harder to find here but it's absolutely worth it. Since I don't use highlighter for the stuff I write with this one I don't know how it holds up though.

As a fallback I use the Muji Gel Pens in 0.3 and 0.5 since they're much easier to get a hold of here, but I don't love them like the other two.

As for notebooks, I'm extremely picky about both paper and format, so I actually bind my own! However I got a lil too into it writing this post so I wrote wayy too much about bookbinding and I'm gonna spare you all that! hehe

I was really into pens in high school when I needed them more, but eventually I settled into a favorite. For the longest time I liked the Pilot Precise V5 that was mentioned already. Then I felt that the Pilot G2 was the best balance of good dark ink without the smudginess. Then I saw that the Pen Addict had listed a classic Bic ballpoint pen as one of his favorites, so I tried it and I saw the light. I really like ballpoint pens now to the point that I can't see myself going back!

I do own a Space Pen, but I was disappointed by it. It was my most expensive pen purchase, so maybe that put me off wanting to buy fancier stuff.

I've never really been into pens, but it's awesome to see others enjoying them. :D

I personally am a fan of normal ballpoint pens, with a decent thickness!

Maybe this is something i should look into more :?:
You should have a cup of tea today!
