What music have you bought (or downloaded) recently?

I went on a spending spree on the last Bandcamp Friday on August 1st, buying a ton of discographies and albums from small artists. So here are some musicians I got music from recently (and their releases)!

1. ff00ff - no droids on the beach (I actually pre-ordered it the day before it released in July because I really liked their other tracks)
2. ari melody - free2play (I had listened to it on YouTube Music when it released last year and I saw her posting about it on the fediverse or bluesky. Very happy to have finally gotten the full thing to download myself!)
3. disphing - href (there's a cool site with different pages matching each track! pretty nifty)
4. vimae - watercolor (also saw mae posting about this on social media a while back so now I got it. It's fun recognizing the avatars of others who supported the album)

(I did the same when I found PossiblyAxolotl's following page (nelward! bo en! vivivivivi! Oliver Buckland?!), along with Anthony's (Faye Webster! Tom Cardy!). Reminds me of when I became really happy when I recognized an outro song in one/2 of the latter's videos).

also as I was writing this I looked at the cover image from Bandcamp's Essential Releases, August 8, 2025 and recognized the album cover for Dev Lemons' In The Party; I did not know she was also on the site! Maybe I should spend even more time searching for artists I like to purchase their songs.

I had a big download session recently, but the standout album (and the one I think I'll keep in rotation) is herdbound - bit depth!

Tho not long before that I downloaded polygondwanaland - King gizzard and the wizard lizard, and have also enjoyed that

I gave those albums a listen and they're pretty neat! They're definitely not my style, but I love what they're doing, particularly free2play :3

I recently bought Modo Primate by Los Casettes... twice. Went to see them live and bought a CD of this album from them, but it didn't play correctly, so I decided to buy it on Bandcamp and burn it onto a CD-R later lol
I'm also waiting for JER to release Death of the Heart... only TWO DAYS AWAY AAAAAAAA

Bandcamp Friday is so fun

I love the rhythm game 140, so I finally bought the OST so I can have a one-person rave any time I want lmao
I bought a friend's second album cause he's cool
I also bought Level Select by Pizza Hotline on cassette (it's got an all-over print for the shell, it looks awesome)
andddd I got all of MallBat's music, because she's one of my favourite animators at the moment <3

iirc it's days when 100% of the money from bandcamp purchases goes directly to the artists, without bandcamp keeping any of it
