I find that explaining that the "cloud" is just "another person's computer" REALLY makes the nature of the cloud clearer for people who really haven't thought about it. They don't realize that the cloud is as reliable as a computer can be (which means, not entirely reliable by itself). Cinzia actually says something similar to this, but she says that the cloud glitches when hard drives don't, which I think is not entirely true. The cloud is just scaled computing, and all computing is prone to glitches, which includes hard drives. But I do agree that the cloud is just waaaaay less reliable than people think.
Good video ! I saw it in my feed and added it to my watch later, but ended up watching it now because of this post.

Yeah Cinzia is not exactly a tech expert, and there were a couple of things I disagreed with in this video, but overall it serves as another example for why you should take the time to make your own backup system.

I'd like to make a comprehensive backup solution. My backups are currently using Borg but I'm having issues automating it and making sure I have enough copies in the right places.
