Yay! I'm curious why you reacted so quickly and broadly. This forum isn't based in the UK, right? Why did you fear legal consequences of leaving it up?

Oh my goodness seeing the forum down got me unfathomably depressed a couple days back, super glad it's back up!

I'm so sorry! I did clearly overreact, and I learned a lot on how to handle these things moving forward.

Honestly, I was surprised to see that this forum could have been affected by the UK law, but knowing that this came from a place of caution was I needed. So many companies, governments, and platforms are careless or exploitative with the people they impact, so I'm grateful to be part of one that is careful.

This has also served as a good example of the impact of this law and what it means for the future of the internet. Privacy advocates have been talking about this decline for a while. 2025 so far seems to be a year of nightmares coming true. The only upside is that maybe people will see this become more real.
