I guess it breeds a sort of intentionality? Because you have to make a very conscious decision you are going to interact with your collected arts

As for what i do with physical media:
I watch movies on DVD these days, and don't buy digital games anymore.

I'm considering a CD player! As i feel that's a good compromise of convenience

I love physical media, embrace inconvenience! <3
I'm planning on doing the same with my movies! I've bought all of my console games in physical format since the PS2 days and it's sad to see how the format is getting less and less attention as time goes on. There's this store chain called Game (pretty much GameStop) in my country and the trend is obvious at this point.

My nearest Game is half funko pops, plushies, peripherals and collectables. Not even 10 years ago, all of it was first and second hand games. Some people say that it's not going to take long until they go into bankruptcy and close all of their stores. When that day comes, I'll stop collecting games.

What are some of your favorite games that you have in your physical collection?
Animal crossing: new horizons honestly, as I'm quite the borrower! :3
The game is just very comfy :3
Subject to change tho :D

Also same thing did happen to gamestop
When i was a kid so much more of it was games
You should have a cup of tea today!
But I hope your day is great no matter what <3

I've heard a fair amount about how shops such as GameStop don't actually sell many games anymore, which is a real disappointment. In England, though, we have CeX (please don't pronounce it out loud, especially in front of kids - whoever called it that absolutely knew what they were doing), which while it does also veer towards general electronics, it has truckloads of older consoles and games! They don't seem to sell figurines at all, and as for hats, they only have a few, which is quite nice. I must say I never really bother to buy my electronics from there as I can usually find cheaper ones on second-hand sites, but the videogame prices are generally quite competent from my experience after comparing their prices to online second-hand shops (I do still usually compare each time I want to get a game, but especially in the case of (3)DS games CeX is the cheaper option - there's also one 15 minutes drive from my house which is cool). It is also very red, a nice change from the often greyscale or beige shops I keep hearing about.

Oh and as for my favourite physical games in my collection, probably Ace Attorney, Professor Layton and Tomodachi Life. There are others I like, but these ones stand out the most to me.

And so I wake in the morning and I step outside and I
Take a deep breath and get real high

Yup, I've been going to my local CeX more often as that's where I can find most games for older consoles. Also, I love collecting PC games made between 1998 and 2010, so CeX it is.

As for my favourite physical games:
(Unpacked and decryted using tools in order to skip DRM and play actual retail versions of the games)
- Half Life 2 Retail
- Half Life 2 Episode Pack
- Portal
- Counter Strike Anthology (1.6 and Condition Zero)
