I have had 2 flip phones: the TCL flip 2 and the CAT S22. I hate the S22. It has a really poor build quality and subpar components on it. The keyboard feels so bad to type on. My TCL, which is way cheaper than the CAT, is the better flip phone in almost every way. Only thing is that I need to have no browser on my phones. I am too addicted with poor impulse control atm, so neither device is good enough for my needs.
I have rooted my old motorola moto x4 to dumb it down to only have texts, calls, podcasts, and navigation. Even with this, I still hate having it in my pocket. This is what I will be running until I get my lightphone 3, which I am super excited for.
What phone are you using?

Currently i'm using a oneplus 9 pro from 2021.
But i dont like oneplus anymore, since there OS became more buggier over time, and the brand is completely destroyed.
If that phone dies sometime soon, (of which i hope that will be very soon) i want to go for a Fairphone 5 since these are highly repairable, and get updates for 8 years. I always wanted a phone that can be repaired really easily.

I am currently running a Pixel 7 loaded with GrapheneOS and Pro launcher to simplify my Home Screen.
I have seen the Fairphones around, my personal experience isn't that great. The Phones given they're Price class are usually just that much worse which is huge turndown, but I could be wrong nowadays my experience is from the Fairphone 3. Also, there were supply Issues with replacement parts when my Sister owned one.loebas wrote: Fri Feb 07, 2025 2:52 pm i want to go for a Fairphone 5 since these are highly repairable

Pixel 6A with GrapheneOS and OLauncher. Got it a couple years ago to replace my previous phone which over the years got enough damage that fixing it would cost as much as a new one.
I've had a proper dumbphone in the last few years as well, while said previous phone was being fixed, but it was way too much of a hassle getting authentication codes etc. via text all the time instead of just opening an app, and I didn't want to spend lots of money to get a dumbphone with Android. Props to the people for whom it works, though.
