My father instilled in me, from a young age, a love of the Pilot Precise V5 Extra Fine Rolling Ball. Best pen I've ever used, and you can get them at the grocery store.

But I've been journaling regularly for about a year now and I've used up a couple of them, so I'm thinking about taking the plunge into fountain pens so as to be able to reduce my plastic use. And for the vibes. Can't beat a nice pen and a bottle of ink for vibes.

As a fountain pen enjoyer, I must say the Pilot Precise V5 is the best non-fountain pen I've ever used. I am also a fan of the Pilot Frixion erasable pens because they're the only erasable pen I've seen that actually works. Very good for things like TTRPG character sheets that need frequent erasing.

Also realizing I never gave my real response in this thread, my current favorite pen is the TWSBI Precision, which is a metal-bodied piston filler. I have the gunmetal gray one, but they recently released a very nice looking blue one that I'm stopping myself from getting because I don't need a second one.

Oh wow, that is one beautiful pen. When I end up getting a cheaper fountain, if I end up really liking them, that looks like a very nice pen to upgrade to.

I know this is something of a basic answer, but I generally like to use the cheap BIC pens... I guess I just never bothered to try a really fancy one, haha!

But in terms of favourite pen of all time, I used to have a pen (Tesco Mobile perhaps?) when I was maybe 8 years old, and what I really liked about it - other than it being great for me to use at the time - was the fact that it had a mini plastic football inside, and it would jump about when I pressed on the back to either open or close the pen. Other than that, I remember nothing about it. It might be in my "nostalgia drawer" back at home where I keep trinkets and drawings from while I was growing up (including the two only plastic straws in the entire house), but I can't access it right now since I'm abroad.
