No, this does not have anything to do with Google's LLM slop.

Since this forum is about websites, this is technically off topic, but I think it's close enough. The Gemini protocol is an alternative to HTTPS designed in the likeness of the much older Gopher. It supports simple text documents and direct file links (which some clients can embed but it should not be assumed). There is an active community of Gemini users who I believe have overlapping interests with this group, so you might want to check it out.

My preferred client is Lagrange.

Here are some useful places for finding gemlogs you may be interested in:
  • CAPCOM - gemini://gemini.circumlunar.space/capcom/
  • Antenna - gemini://warmedal.se/~antenna/
  • Cosmos - gemini://skyjake.fi/~Cosmos/
  • Fumble Around - gemini://fumble-around.mediocregopher.com/
There is also the Gemini Quickstart guide for new Geminauts.

(of some interest, the BBCode [url] tag does not support gemini:// URLs)

I'm hoping to get my site back on Gemini. Someone added Gemini support to my static site generator, so it should be trivial.
