I currently have some rando Android smartphone on a Verizon plan. If I want to try out the dumbphone life, the normal way would be to purchase a phone and set it up with a new line, either on my existing plan or on a new plan.
But can't I just buy the phone and plug in my current SIM card? I know that, long term, I'd be overpaying, since dumbphone lines are cheaper than smartphone ones. But it'd sure limit the hassle and make the switch easier.
Anyone know if swapping SIMs like this is possible, and/or if it poses any risk of mishap for either phones?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Simply Switching SIM?
Yes, that is how it works, so long as the dumb phone you bought is not for some reason locked to a different carrier. I have been SIM swapping for at least the last 10 years and never had an issue except when my new phone used a different size card so we had to modify mine to fit (yes it is cursed). Anyway go wild!
