Hey, this is [lý], and this is my first forum post

To cut to the chase, I have just earlier today been informed about an EU initiative called Chat Control which aims to have an AI scan all private messages In apps like messenger, WhatsApp and telegram. This seems like a hugeeeee privacy concern, and is once again sort of like the age verification stuff put behind a "to protect the kids" mantra, that just does not hold up...

It seems like the news outlets at least here in Denmark pretty much just haven't talked about it!? And also somehow Denmark of all countries seems to FOR this initiative, and have actually been the ones to get it going again!? I am so against this...

I find it very concerning that i almost haven't even had a chance to hear about it before now, and it's due october 14th!?


And like if this gets passed, what would the next thing be that they try and put in there, privacy would be effectly dead. I do not want that!

And hey get this, the politicians will be exempt from this entire thing... that sounds very suspicious to me.

I am currently a little stumped on what exactly one can do about this, so I'd love to hear suggestions!

OMFG I hate that is being reconsidered, and from Denmark of all places. I would highly recommend anyone from the EU, to check out the Links @[lý] mentions, calling and emailing your Reps is something that has a surprising amount of Influence.

What is sort of funny the addition of exclusion for Politicians, like this overtly elitist. And what happens you leave Politics or don't make the next Election? What a wired addition.

But yeah Privacy would be dead on the Internet with this Law. I am not sure this Law will ever pass is it goes against the Constitutions of several Member States and against the EU Charter. But that doesn't mean any less that we have to protest and contact our Representatives to go against.

Wow that's horrifying. Are they mandating crackable e2ee implementations?? That's just plain stupid. The world really is going to shit.

Moreover I think imma go buy a boat and sail around so I don't have to worry about this shit anymore lmao

I don't know what to say besides that it's utterly gross this is being proposed at all!
