The internet has changed. How I've disconnected and my concerns.

I wanted to post this as an answer to CitricScion 's post , but It came out a little bit long. So here's my approach on how my internet usage changed, how I've disconnected, my concerns, and what I feel the future of the internet might be.

Mine is an interesting story. I've been into IT since I was ...

Re: How to back up the existing music on an iPod

Oh yeah! Forgot about that. Soon I'll be installing Debian on my main machine. I'll make sure to flash Rockbox on my classic ...

That's a very complete guide! Thanks! I might try Rockbox in the future so I don't have to go through all that process in case I delete my local copy ='')

Re: Ordered an iPod

It is really depressing how there are no repairable ipod alternatives at all. I looked so hard and ipods where the only option if I wanted to be able to replace the flipping battery myself. What a sad world we live in.

That being said, did you get the ipod dock on ebay. I wish I got into the ...

Re: "The Importance of Inconvenience" by MecklesFrog

Awesome video, I've been feeling this way for quite a while. I feel like convenience removes the "ritual" aspect of consuming certain types of art. The whole process of going to Blockbuster, renting a movie, probably chat with someone in the process, and then go back, physically get the media out ...

Re: Ordered an iPod

I bought a 5th (5.5)gen iPod classic a year ago, changed the battery (twice) and upgraded the storage with an iFlash-CF mod and a CF to MicroSD adapter. After a quick fix while restoring the iPod using Windows, it's been great!

Being able to listen to my music library without any distractions or ...

Re: I use arch, btw

Lately I've been using regular Debian, it works really well on low spec machines and I love using it in servers. Recently I've been working with offline maps, tiles and directions API's to self host country-wide maps with navigation and directions, and oh man is it RAM/CPU intensive.

Every MB of ...
