It is really depressing how there are no repairable ipod alternatives at all. I looked so hard and ipods where the only option if I wanted to be able to replace the flipping battery myself. What a sad world we live in.
That being said, did you get the ipod dock on ebay. I wish I got into the ipod scene earlier when things weren't so expensive.
Yes! I have two docks now! One of them is the RCA output dock that I mentioned (Koda iD811), which I got from ebay like 9 months ago. The other one is one of those round Sony Dream Machine alarm clocks (icf-cd3ip) that has a side tray with a 30-pin connector. I bought it a week ago off Wallapop, which is a well known app in my country to search for second hand stuff, very similar to Craigslist in the US.
