Dumbphone and Smart Watch?
I like the idea of rolling around with a dumbphone but as someone with ADHD I like some of the functionality that smartphones and smart watches offer like making my wrist buzz whenever a timer goes off and tapping me on the wrist for reminders. I'd like some ideas of potential ways of making a dumbphone work so I can entertain them at some point. My first thought is running a Mac Mini as I have an apple watch.

First, welcome to the forum!!
I left this comment on the video regarding an iPod alarm, however, I'd like to actually consider the smart watch route, it's an interesting point.
If a dumb phone is running Android, in theory, you could put any app on it (it might not work well, but it'd be interesting to explore!) It might be possible to get, say, a Pebble smartwatch to work alongside a dumb phone, but I'd be very curious what other people have in mind.

Re: Dumbphone and Smart Watch?
I've never thought about the apple watch + dumbphone combo, but that makes SO much sense! watches are a lot less addictive I think and I imagine the benefit of having something on your wrist must be immense for ADHD!
Since my dumbphone runs android, I'll definitely look into the pebble watches!
Something I've been looking into as well is SensorWatch, for the tinkerers out there...
It's a motherboard switch for casio watches (or at least for some casio models) that gives you the option to customize your watch faces in a bunch of ways, and you can even make your own (although I think some basic python is needed for that).
I don't quite get the different restrictions on the different models/firmware versions yet but it seems like there's the option for a pedometer, heart beat tracker and temperature sensor on some of them, which are the tools I'd mainly want in a smart watch. It also has the buzzing feature in a newer version it seems, which @ambiarock mentioned as something they'd need.
I gave my old apple watch to my partner a while ago, since he's into bodybuilding and benefits way more than me from the exercise helpers it provides, but have been missing the basic tracking functionality and timers. I would love something similar back, but also love my old, beat up casio very dearly (lmao)
